[News: Soaring idle dollars send reserve to $20b
The country’s foreign exchange reserve crossed $20-billion mark for the first time on Thursday as Bangladesh Bank has purchased US dollars worth $8.53 billion in 21 months to keep taka stable against greenback.
Economists say on Thursday that there was nothing to be happy overly with the high reserve as the soaring idle dollar indicated lower GDP growth amid slower business activities in the private sector.
